This two-day workshop designed for service and maintenance personnel who are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and proper maintenance of gas furnaces and other gas burning equipment.
SEGMENT ONE: TROUBLESHOOTING & SERVICING GAS FURNACES
In this workshop segment, participants will learn how to properly adjust burners for maximum efficiency and safe operation and use test equipment to check for proper air flow in furnaces. This workshop also focuses on electrical component testing, electrical system troubleshooting, and part replacement. Fundamental concepts related to gas furnace troubleshooting, as well as more advanced service procedures are covered, so this workshop is appropriate for both new and experienced technicians, as well as those who work in a non-HVAC maintenance departments and want to cross train.
SEGMENT TWO: CARBON MONOXIDE TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION
Carbon monoxide is an odorless, tasteless, and invisible toxic gas produced by the process of combustion in fuel-burning furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and appliances such as gas ranges. In this segment of the workshop, facility maintenance staff and HVAC technicians will be instructed in the processes of combustion analysis, burner operation and troubleshooting, working with fuel-oil, and natural, and LP gases. The proper use carbon monoxide test equipment to evaluate the operation of fuel-burning equipment, and test and monitor residential and commercial areas for carbon monoxide levels is also covered. At the conclusion of the instructional segment of the workshop, the instructor will proctor a 100-question, multiple-choice exam, enabling participants to be certified through a nationally recognized program.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Jim Johnson has more than three decades of work experience in HVACR maintenance and troubleshooting and is an experienced workshop leader. He holds multiple certifications in carbon monoxide testing, and is certified in HVAC system air balancing. His specialty is adult education and he consistently receives high marks from workshop attendees for his ability to simplify concepts and explain troubleshooting and service procedures.
