TECHNICIANS HANDBOOKS FOR HVAC/R AND MAJOR APPLIANCE SERVICE PROFESSIONALS
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Jim Johnson has been a full-time technician as well as a full-time trade school instructor and community college instructor and administrator in the HVAC/R, and appliance fields since 1973. He has facilitated over 300 training seminars in the HVAC/R and facility maintenance area, as well as many other workshops in both technical and non-technical areas. Those who have attended his workshops will be quick to tell you that while Jim takes the time to explain theory to you, its not dull or boring. You learn what you need to learn and understand what you need to understand because he explains things in a clear, simple manner that eliminates the mystery behind the subjects of electricity, refrigeration and troubleshooting.
His background includes a satellite training network for HVAC/R and appliance technicians and the development and presentation of more than 50 video training sessions. Many of the video programs he has written, developed and presented contain interactive workbooks. He is nationally recognized as one of the industrys best-known technical writers, having written several major textbooks for academic training programs in the HVAC/R and appliance industries but he is quick to caution people that they shouldnt be too impressed by that fact.
"Book learning is good stuff, not doubt about it, "he says, "but until you put that knowledge to practical use, it isnt worth much."
Jim is also a regular columnist and feature article writer for several trade magazines in the HVAC/R and appliance industries. He is a member of RSES and ACCA.
Jims favorite saying? "This stuff aint rocket science."
And many satisfied technicians who have purchased his handbooks over the years are glad he takes that simple, down-to-earth approach to explaining things.
